An Upper Shariah Court in Kano has ordered the Divisional Police Office of Kwali Quarters in the Kano metropolis to investigate a popular Kano-based Hausa artiste, Dauda Kahutu, aka Rarara, for allegedly featuring a married woman, Maryam Muhammad, in his music video without the consent of her husband.
The court also directed that the woman, Maryam, and the singer’s producer, Abubakar Maishada, be investigated for the roles they played in the matter.
The woman’s husband, Abdulkadir Inuwa, had approached the court alleging that the singer eloped with his wife and featured her in a recent music video, titled, ‘Jihata, Jihata ce.’
Inuwa informed the court that his wife of five months left his house for three months without his consent.
Yola directed the DPO Kwali Quarters to investigate the singer, Maryam, and the producer and adjourned the matter till February 2, 2021.
